Introduction
1.This equipment is mainly used to test the materials with large deformation, being the special accessory of universal testing machine, and the deformation can up to 800mm.
2. It is mainly composed of the encoder, pull wire, line fall, guide rod, beeline spool, the upper and lower jaws block, jaw and bottom plate.
3.The beeline spool is equipped under the jaws lock, moving along the guide rod up and down.
4.The upper and lower jaws block are balanced by the pull wire with the line fall.
5.The pull wire bypass the pulley connected with the encoder and drive the encoder to rotate.
6.While the jaws move along the distance to the deformation of the gripped specimen, the encoder can measure the distance of the deformation of the specimen.
Application Method:
1. Install the large extensometer onto the upper cross-head of universal testing machine, and get the encoder’s connector and PC’s connector together.
2. Loosen the two screws on the jaws block, and adjust the jaws’ position according to the center of the specimen for making the center of jaws and specimen’s centerline match together on the whole.
3. Grip the specimen on the jaws. Adjust the upper and lower jaws to a proper position according to the specimen’s gauge length for making the jaws’ to the responding line. On the test, if the jaws’ clamping force is too small to slip. It would be alright to adjust the proper pressure to clamp screw, so that the clamping force can be increased.
